This features my favorite room from this year’s Showcase House — a space that feels whimsical and childlike, yet somehow warmly nostalgic for adults as well. It made me want to sit quietly and remember all of the fairy tales and imagination that shape childhood memories so beautifully.
Nancy believes that the arts are important. Everyone but especially children benefit from exposure to the arts. Whether through music education, live performances, visual arts, or creative programs in schools and communities, the arts help young people build confidence, communication skills, and emotional awareness. They also create opportunities for collaboration and belonging that can shape lives in lasting ways.
That is why the mission of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts is so meaningful. Through its longstanding support of music education, youth concerts, arts grants, and outreach programs, the organization helps bring classical music and artistic experiences to children and families throughout the community. Its work reflects the belief that access to music and the arts should be available to all children because these experiences not only inspire creativity, but also bring people together in ways that strengthen both individuals and communities.
